Pros
- There were no technical issues with the beta and I doubt there will be when it comes out.
- Solid matchmaking that made it easy to queue matches and play with friends.
- Great map that is all inclusive of the soulsy game style.
- Cool bosses and weapons throughout the map.
- The characters are all very balanced in a way that gives you a reason to play them all.
- Multiplayer aspect is a very cool idea to see implemented well by Fromsoft in a souls game
Cons
- Delay from when you killed something and acquired the runes which is on the line of a technical issue.
- Bad leveling structure and death mechanic where you lose all runes and a level upon death. Which makes it hard to make it past night 2.
- Storm color looks the same as spirit streams which makes it hard to know where to find the spirit streams when you are dying in the storm.
- You need to level very fast which is hard because of enemy scarcity throughout the map.
- Should be fifteen dollars and not forty at launch.
- I was not begging to keep playing after my six hour play session.
- Difficulty scales bad when you have less than a full team.
- No solos or duos modes during the beta BUT they have said that there will be additional options at launch. Let's just hope they scale difficulty.
- Your character runs slower than the storm which means you die if you get stuck in a bad spot on the map.
Final Message
I was overall impressed by the gameplay but it is not worth the starting price of forty dollars. If I were to buy this game I would wait for a Steam sale to lower the price down to about twenty dollars. All in all, I will definitely play more when it comes out because I’m a sucker for Elden Ring. For more information, head to the official site to buy or preorder.
